GLENN GOULD —
Classical pianist, brilliant performer of Bach and Beethoven's keyboard works (as well as dozens of 20th Century avant-garde compositions); anti-establishment individualist; a hardworking, almost monastic recluse who virtually lived in the recording studio; brilliant writer and speaker; often accused of being nothing more than "ego, ego, ego" (by those who apparently think Rubenstein was humble and Horowitz self-deprecating). KEITH JARRETT —

TIM BUCKLEY —
Singer, songwriter, major musical conceptualizer of the Sixties and early Seventies; one of America's greatest voices and finest vocal improvisers; moved through five different conceptual/stylistic periods over the course of nine albums; never attained significant commercial success, but created songs and albums that many listeners appreciate to this day. Known primarily for Goodbye and Hello and Happy Sad. Regarded his avant-garde Starsailor as his masterpiece. Died at age twenty-eight of an accidental alcohol and heroin overdose.
